Anorexia in Autism & ADHD

This session explores the links between autism, ADHD, and anorexia and why traditional eating disorder support may need adapting. It examines sensory processing, interoception, anxiety, and demand avoidance, alongside the impact on treatment and recovery.

By completing this CPD session, participants will demonstrate that they can:

Understand why anorexia is more prevalent in autistic and ADHD groups experiences.

Recognise sensory and interoceptive influences on eating responses.

Identify the role of anxiety and control.

Understand why traditional approaches may need adapting.

Apply neurodiversity-informed eating disorder support.

This training provides up to 2 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and is suitable for professionals working in education, health, care, and corporate settings.
