in Autistic Young People

This session explores why autistic children and young people experience higher rates of mental health difficulties and why these are frequently misunderstood or misattributed. It examines the impact of environment, unmet needs, sensory processing, and invalidation on emotional wellbeing, distress, and long-term outcomes.

By completing this CPD session, participants will demonstrate that they can:

Understand why mental health difficulties are more common experiences.

Recognise signs of distress in autistic young people's responses.

Identify the role of sensory and emotional regulation.

Understand key mental health risk factors.

Apply compassionate support strategies safely.

This training provides up to 2 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and is suitable for professionals working in education, health, care, and corporate settings.
